- Reply to this post with the word ICONS! and I will pick six of your icons
- Make a post (including this info) and talk about the icons I chose
- Other people can then comment to you and make their own posts
- This will create a never ending cycle of icon glee

This has been my default icon since forever, and I don't see myself changing it anytime soon. I made it from one of my own caps because I wanted an icon that was fandom-y, but also to do with writing, and Sarah Jane is one of my top characters of all time. I love how she can keep the Doctor on hold like she does - she's all 'yes, well, I do love the mysteries of time a space, but after my deadline, 'kay?'
OK... that gets less true the more episodes she's in, but at one point he's basically begging her to travel with him. This picture is from Terror of the Zygons, which I liked because Sarah got to be a journalist, which she hadn't done for quite a few episodes at that point. I love the way that, on the trail of an alien beast, she still takes time out to do her actual job. Props, SJ.

I got this one pretty recently, when I realised that I was talking about Star Trek femslash a lot more, suddenly, and I didn't really have any icons suitable. That said, although I love the relationship between Deanna and Beverly, I don't really ship them (much). I'm just really happy that they're friends and they hang out and go to exercise classes together and Deanna calls her 'Bev'. They're just cute.

It is really hard to find any Cagney and Lacey icons at all. Seriously, guys - they're two real-looking, grown-up women who have problems and who are smart and who sometimes make mistakes but more often kick ass - where is the love?
I adore how strong their relationship is in spite of how different they are - neither of them could imagine living the other's lifestyle, but they still stick together through thick and thin and know each other better than anyone else.
Plus sometimes they shout things like 'Dammit, that's my partner in there!' And once they cooked together and it ended in a food fight.

OK, so, I went through a big glasses phase. Not a new thing, at all, but a bunch of TV shows/films happened to come out at once where my favourite characters wore glasses and were hot.
I don't know what it is about glasses... I don't understand why plastic or metal frames bearing lenses worn in front of the eyes would make such a difference... I can only assume it's the glasses=brains thing...

Made this after The Christmas Invasion. I ficced and blogged about my unhappiness with how Harriet got treated there, but I thought an icon wouldn't go amiss either. I loved Harriet and I thought that, morally questionable as her actions may have been, she did what she did for all the right reasons and I'm not sure I would have done different. The Doctor can't always be there to save the day - the world needs people like Harriet Jones.

Partners in Crime, by
carawj
I loved Ace and Mel's interaction in Dragonfire - they basically carry the whole story between them while the Doctor faffs about on ledges for three episodes. Mel is one of my favourite characters anyway, and I thought she worked especially well paired with Ace. I spotted
carawj using this icon before we even knew one another that well, and oh, I coveted it.
Now I get to steal whatever icons I want from
carawj, and this was the first one I went for! And sometimes I use it when I'm talking about the two of us, too, although we're more like partners in watching TV and going on picnics than partners in crime.
Also, on a related note, I still haven't run out of icon space. I have yet to find my perfect Kira squee/happy-face icon, I want more Cagney and Lacey ones, Doctor Quinn ones and maybe some travelling ones or literature ones. The search continues.
