So, I have reached that great and magical milestone. Quarter of a century. One box up when I next fill in a survey. I am twenty-five years old.
( Ramblings about my life, ahoy! )
Also, just to say, there are several things I intend to reply to, but they're all in tabs on my laptop, and my power supply is broken. New one should be arriving soon, and in the meantime, I'll try to remember what I was going to comment on!

New Year and all that...
Jan. 2nd, 2011 01:16 pmSo, 2010, not so great for me in some ways. And probably when I think back on it, all the stuff with Mum is going to be what I remember most. Possibly, in a lot of ways, the worst year of my life so far.
But then, 2010 was also the year that I celebrated my first anniversary with
carawj, did Princess Laserquest for my birthday, was immortalised in a museum, went to a Prom and a folk festival, wrote most of a novel from scratch, saw more theatre and comedy than ever before, went to dozens of picnics, parties, games nights and food-themed gatherings, went to Russia for the umpteenth time, got back into Star Trek fandom, holidayed in Italy and Cornwall, came out to my Welsh family, and got closer to a lot of people I really enjoy spending time with. And you know, I'm really sad right now, but apart from the sad stuff, my life is pretty awesome.
In 2011 I hope for more awesomeness and less sadness.
carawj has already started the awesomeness off by paying for us to go to
vidukon as my Christmas present! *bouncebouncebounce* Also, I'm planning another Russia trip, hoping to take another exciting European holiday, determined to see lots more theatre, planning to write lots and lots, and looking forward to spending time with my terrific friends. 2011 is all fresh and new and I'm excited to fill it with memories.

Off on holiday!!!
Oct. 5th, 2010 11:31 pmSo, it's been another busy couple of weeks - but that'll have to wait for another time, this is just to let y'all know that I'm off to Italy for a week tomorrow, hooray!
I'm quite ridiculously excited, this is the first proper holiday I've been on probably since Oz in the summer of 2007(?) - not that I don't love going to Russia, but it's more like a working holiday and doesn't exactly count.
We're doing it all on a tiny budget, but we're going to Amalfi and Pompeii, and I've never been to Italy before so I'm super-psyched!
Have a lovely week, everyone! See you on the flipside!

Dec. 13th, 2007 08:46 pmI went into Blackwell while I was on campus the other day, because I had twenty minutes to kill, and I was looking at all the shiny books, and it occurred to me that it's been months, literally months, since I sat down and just read a book, for fun, like, a whole, proper book.
This is very distressing. I mean, I used to read all the time as a child, but like a lot of people, as I got older I started to read less, mostly because I had work and a social life and all that sort of stuff. But I think these few months have been the first time in my entire life that I just have not read. At all.
I just don't have any time. I've barely written anything, either. And even when I do have a little free time, my brain is so tired that I can't seem to get started on anything.
So yes, this sucks, but that's not the point of this post - the point is, I'm now eagerly anticipating next year, after I've graduated, when I will be able to read. I plan to just give myself over to reading and writing and going to plays and films, and do very little else for a while.
(Obviously I will have to have a job and stuff as well, but I'm talking about leisure time now. Which I will have again!)
So, yes. My grand plan is to become extremely well-read. I only want to read things that are really worth my while.
So, dear f-list, (who I have been neglecting terribly these past few months, very sorry!) - what shall I put on my reading list for next year? What books do you think are absolutely indispensable? What books will change my life forever? What books will I want to read over and over once I've discovered them? Suggestions?

Nov. 22nd, 2007 05:59 pmYes...
As usual I am being rubbish and I haven't read my flist properly in a while. I'm just so busy that I barely have time to eat and sleep, let alone keep up with what's going on here!
penguin2, I'm very excited about your stuff, but I'm going to have to give it a couple of weeks before I can give it my attention because of all of this DAMN COURSEWORK.
Everyone else, hope you're doing ok and having a nice month and looking forward to Christmas if applicable!
What I really wanted to mention was that I'm thinking of getting a gang together to go and see The Tennant in Hamlet next year, and I was wondering if anyone wants to come with? I'm thinking August at the moment, but it's open for negotiation! Let me know!
