Grrr. Stupid Orange. Oh well, I have it in my Sent Messages. It was just general squeeeeeing about Serenity coming out - note my CC listpost from last night, wherein I transcribed some LJ conversation about the film :-)
BTW that picture of the Praed is soooo Don Barrie (from the Chrons). So when I've done the books, and they SELL, and maybe if I'm lucky before I die someone will option it for a film...that's the sort of look for the actor to play Donald...~grins~ Also BTW I've finally started back in on writing more bits of Book 1 (since some of it takes place before I er um met these people, it's a tough job!) and trying to put all the underage sex in publishing-safe oblique words. Erk.
That's so cool! And interesting to know. I would totally go and see that film - although naturally I'd be one of the purists who read the book first... I've got a lot done on my writing project lately, but half of it is on the back of doughnut bags from work. Hmm.
"When there were shadows, and there were always shadows in the candlelit night, Duncan would huddle in his bed and say the counting words. They made him less afraid. One for the Huntress, two for the morning sun, three for the birthing, four for the harvest, five for the fountain, six for the well, seven for the wind, eight for the waiting, nine for the wheel, ten for the line of my Lord. He had known the complete chant by the time he was three years old, but at night in the shadowed room he would say the counting words as children did. One for the Huntress...it helped.
"His world was the room and the inn and the village and the narrow valley below the old castle. It was, as far as he knew, all the world there was for him. That people came and went at times, he was aware, but their comings and goings were distant, the stuff of stories to his forming mind. For him there was only the chores and the seasons, the familiar strangers who came to the inn, his lady mother and his Lord..."
Dude. Nothing wrong with writing on doughnut bags. I've written some of my best-ever lyrics on paper serviettes at Chinese restaurants :D
Ooooh, I like! And that chant is very interesting. You know, I can't wait until you've finished Book 1. I had a momentary panic last night when it appeared that I had lost one of my crucial doughnut bags, and so I turned my room upside down, only to find that it was on my desk...

Hey, did I send you an SMS recently about Serenity? Erm, and did you get it?
