cosmic_llinI'm having a baby cousin!!!! YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is so exciting!!
The baby isn't due until next April, but I just found out about it now. I had thought that Neil and Heather would have another baby, and I was right! Tina called me just now to tell me about it - it's nice that the news arrived now actually, since Tina was upset what with it being the second anniversary of Jayne dying on Friday, and the thrilling baby news seems to have helped.
The other main exciting thing today was Cosmic New Year - can't believe the CCs have been going for two years! When we started it I didn't imagine it would end up the way it has.
Also quite exciting - we bought a microwave today. Claire and I carried it between us all the way from Beeston Argos, which was no mean feat, I can tell you. We made an apple crumble earlier and we're planning to microwave some of it later! I never realised how much I appreciated the microwave until I was without one, and now it seems so exciting to see it sitting on the worktop.
OOooooh, and I have a job interview on Tuesday! It is for the newsagents in the QMC, which isn't too far to walk, and it's just weekends, a saturday morning and sunday afternoon, so just about right to get some money coming in but not too many hours, so I shouldn't fall behind in my studies. Here's hoping!
Went to the PTerry signing yesterday, was quite good fun - we started queueing two and a half hours early, which turned out to be about the right time, since we got to nearly the front of the queue, but within half an hour the queue was out onto the street! We had a little picnic while we were waiting, and got a picture with PTerry.
This just about finished off my film, so I got it developed and not only did the PTerry pic come out very well, so did the pic of me and Marina Sirtis! Plus some good ones of me and the Trio at C6, so once I can get my hands on a scanner they will be going on CCs.
Finished Going Postal late last night, and thoroughly enjoyed it. It seemed to be less dark than some of the recent Discworlds, and very funny. Yvonne has asked to borrow it when she comes to stay, but I don't think she will be able to wait that long, she'll probably buy her own copy.
Claire got Wyrd Sisters signed for Roger, but she started reading it in the queue and really liked it. So she's having to do that thing where you read a book with the pages open as little as possible, so it doesn't look like it's been read when you eventually give it to the other person.
Ach, lots of work to do this weekend. Better get back to it...
