Dear Festividder Letter..

Hi! Thanks in advance for making me a vid! :D The most important thing to say is that I would be really excited to see anything for my chosen fandoms, so if my ideas don't grab you feel free to go somewhere else with it, the following is just to help you out! :)


Music:

Music-wise, the most important thing for me is that it works well with the source and makes a good vid. I'm not keen on rap or really hardcore dance music, but most anything else is good. For extra guidance if you want some, though, I really like British and American folk music, rock, quirky girls with guitars type stuff, some country, some pop, musical theatre soundtracks... artists I'm enjoying recently include Dar Williams, Regina Spektor, Ingrid Michaelson, Kate Bush, Tori Amos, Bonnie Langford, The Burns Unit, Clannad, Cyndi Lauper, Dolly Parton, ELO, Jim Moray, and Toyah. But seriously, if it's the song that makes the vid work, it's the right song for me! :)

General:

I really think there aren't enough vids about women in the world. So there's that. Stuff I generally like in a vid includes, character studies, cuteness, thoughtful looks at relationships, fun or sweet ensemble/family-type vids, silly vids, vids about people (especially women) kicking ass.


Cagney and Lacey [TV]

Any vid about Cagney and Lacey themselves would be awesome - a team vid about them kicking ass, a friendship vid, a comedy vid. I'd also love to see a character study vid for either of them - angsty or happy or anywhere in between.

Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman [TV]

I'd love a character vid focusing on Michaela, Dorothy, Olive, Colleen or Grace. I'd also love a vid about any combination of the town's women. I'd like a medicine-focused vid about Dr Mike, or a vid about Colleen growing up. Or a vid about the community generally.

Jam and Jerusalem [TV]

I love all the relationships in this show, so any vid focusing on any relationship would be awesome for me. Some suggestions - Sal and Tip, Sal and Eileen, or Caroline and Suzie. For any of those I'd love friendship or shippy. I'd also love a vid about the Guild as a whole. Or a comedy vid about life in the village. Or a serious vid about life in the village. Basically I love EVERYTHING in this show so whatever aspect you want to focus on will work for me.

M*A*S*H [TV]

I would absolutely love a vid about Margaret - anything from a straight character study to a compilation of funny moments, sad moments, cute moments. Or a vid about the nurses in general - either serious or fun in tone.

Robin of Sherwood [TV]

A vid about Marion would be awesome. Her bad-ass-ness, her evolution from princess in the tower to outlaw. or a vid about her bossing the Merry Men around. I'd also love a vid about the more fantastic aspects of the show - Herne, and witchcraft, and all the mystical stuff.

Star Trek - Next Generation [Movie, TV]

Things I'd love to see: a vid about Deanna being awesome. A character vid about Pulaski. A character vid about Guinan. A vid about the friendships between the women on the show. Basically if it's about the women characters I'm in.

Xanadu [Movie]

My favourite thing about this movie is that it's completely ludicrous yet takes itself utterly seriously. I'd love a vid that reflected this - an overblown, dramatic romance vid between Danny and Sonny would be awesome, as would a vid telling the story of the movie but with some sort of epic song that makes it look like a really serious film. A dance vid would rock. As would a general movie vid that expressed the sheer WTF-ness that is Xanadu.
