cosmic_llinFun day today. Set my alarm for eight, to allow an entire hour for the inevitable snooze button pressing before actually getting up.
Busy morning, since the washing machine is broken and I desperately need some clean clothes, so big pile of hand-washing, followed by running down to the shops for popcorn and nachos, then frenzied tidying before Hannah and Suzanne arrived at noon.
I recently discovered that neither of them have seen Dirty Dancing, which is absolutely scandalous, so they came over and we watched it, and they both loved it. I think Han was actually tearing up in the last scene. We also watched Four Weddings and a Funeral, since they hadn't seen that either. Lovely John Hannah! Then it turned out Hannah was supposed to be picking up her mother in five minutes, so they had to make a quick exit.
Quite excited today, since I've booked my tickets to go down to London for the FCO Careers Open Day - kind of a reunion since when we were on work experience there last year we had to help out with it, and some of the work experience gang are going to be there. Helping out on the Recruitment Desk was an interesting experience, since people assumed I was an actual member of the Foreign Office and kept asking me if the entrance exams were difficult, what it was like to go abroad, had I met Jack Straw etc.
Still will be very nice to see the place again!
