You know, this reminds me that IMO the episode where Jean-Luc lives out his possible life - you included a scene from it, but I've no idea what the ep title is - is powerful enough to stand alone even for a viewer who's not seen much (or any?!) TNG. In the same way that The Body is one of the finest pieces of telly ever made, even if one's never seen any of the rest of Buffy. Just saying...
