Had a very productive shopping trip today, especially considering I only spent about four pound altogether. I went with my mother, since she also had some errands to run.
Got to the bus stop and a woman getting off the other bus had finished with her ticket - so free bus ride for me! Just as well really since bus prices around here are extortionate - it's over a pound just for a three minute ride to the next village, single.
Anyway, took back the shoes that broke yesterday and they replaced them right away, no problems. So I had the fun of new shoes, but the same style since I really liked them.
Went to Poundstretcher and saw a nice bath sheet that goes with my other towels - my mother bought it for me, since she'd just been to the bank and discovered that she was richer than she thought. So now I have a full set of matching towels to go to Uni in the autumn!
Found the scrapbooks I wanted in Woolworths, so lots of fun sticking things this week.
Went to one of those everything-a-pound shops and saw a bubble gun, so bought it on a whim. It doesn't really work, but at least it was cheap!
Was about to go and wait to be picked up when I saw a junk shop and thought I would just have a quick look - which is where I found my star purchase of the day. I'd been thinking about getting a tray to take to Uni for eating meals in front of the TV etc, and I was picturing some plastic thing with polka dots or something. But in the junk shop I saw a beautiful wooden tray with 'unser taglich Brot gib uns heute' written on it and completely fell in love. I'm becoming worryingly domesticated, I fear.
And then when I got home I found that some of my train tickets for my holiday had arrived, so it's been a very productive day all round.
Nine days until I go away!
