Busy weekend!

Phew!
Bit of a manic weekend – it just didn’t seem to stop!
Friday night was fun.
carawj,
silly_cleo and I watched the whole of The Wedding of Sarah Jane Smith, and squeaked and cried and jumped up and down like idiots. Then we fetched chips and poked youtube for pretty much the rest of the evening!
Saturday was mostly taken up with getting Halloween costumes ready – I went as Dr Quinn: Medicine Woman, and
carawj went as Ace! Also
silly_cleo went as Rainbow Zorro, which was the best EVER. She came over to ours to get ready, and Maxine came for dinner too, and then we went for Halloween karaoke with
jenepel(Elphaba) and
lazyclaire (Boggart Snape), which was such fun because it was the kind where you get a room to yourselves so there aren’t strangers looking at you funny, and you can just enjoy yourself without it having to be a performance.
We had to have a few drinks first for the confidence, and then we had a few after as a reward, and then we eventually staggered home and had chips again (oops!). There was much drunkenness. I won’t say who was the most drunk, but it was
carawj.
Yesterday was like three days smooshed into one – we went to meet Manda for dim sum (we waited aaaaaages to get in but it was totally worth it), then we went to a NaNo write-in at Waterstones Piccadilly (I decided to be a bit of a rebel and try to make the word count, but finishing off some of my projects that I’ve left hanging instead of starting something new. I need a push sometimes, and I find write-ins quite helpful. I’m already behind, though!), and then we went to visit
carawj’s dad and stepmum and little sisters, and we heard about their holiday and played Guitar Hero and it was fun and nice!
Then we trekked most of the length of the Piccadilly Line home, and made a desperate attempt to catch up on all the stuff that needs doing on a Sunday evening, I belatedly updated the website, we collapsed in a heap, and six hours later we were up again.
Aaaaargh. Why aren’t weekends longer?

Date: 2009-11-02 05:18 pm (UTC)As you know, my version of Halloween celebrations consists of celebrating the fact that after years of having to dress up in silly costumes at the 'office' on my birthday, I can now NOT dress up, and as a bonus, don't even have to go out on the 31st :D But what we did do was go out to dinner with the Mogg, and then the three of us watched the Buffy Halloween episodes with Ethan Rayne in them. Mogg hasn't yet seen BtVS apart from those two episodes and the s4 one about Cathy the Demon Roommate, but she's a Whedon fan from other sources (Firefly/Serenity, Doctor Horrible) and thoroughly enjoyed the Buffy eps. Also,
Re The Wedding of Sarah Jane Smith, I think I'm falling in love with Clyde. I may have already mentioned this :P
Miss you! Find those TARDIS keys, dammit!

Date: 2009-11-09 02:25 pm (UTC)And yes, Clyde is WONDERFUL. He could have his own show.
Miss you too! Still can't find the TARDIS keys, and bizarrely none of my get-rich-quick schemes seem to work...
Nation on Wednesday, EEEEEE!!!

Date: 2009-11-10 08:03 am (UTC)I love the way Clyde has evolved from being a bit of a wuss-in-denial to being an actual action hero of sorts whilst still retaining his basic Clydeness. Not to mention soooo gorgeous! For that matter, I'm perving bigtime on Rani; so often cute child|adolescent actors get the fuglys as they grow up, but yer one who's playing Rani has gone from cute to ever more slobber-inductingly hawt. Yum!
Nation is TOTALLY EEEEEE! Unfortunately, I've not yet heard back from Tom the PR Director, so I still don't know if an interview is on the cards. But no matter what, I hope the production is as awesome as the rehearsal video diaries indicate it will be. I look forward to your review...and hey, who else is going? Jess? Nia? Elen? Bueller?

Date: 2009-11-10 01:55 pm (UTC)Don't worry too much about the interview thing, either it happens or it doesn't! I'm sure it'll be an awesome evening whatever!
The party, after a lot of last-minute kerfuffle, consists of myself, Cara, Cara's best friend Cleo, Jess, our friend Patrick and another regular theatre-going friend, Maxine. Should be a very good night!
