Ok, ok, I suck at the internet... and communication in general, lately, sorry guys. And I know I keep saying this in each of my sporadic postings, but I'm really going to try harder now to keep up with LJ. I haven't been at all, though, for months, so if you've said stuff I should know, link me!

carawj is still my girlfriend, still super awesome. This makes me indescribably happy. We now have a little flat together in Alexandra Palace, and we have board games and a plant and a joint account and everything. :D
* My mother still refuses to speak to me. It's been getting on for eight months now since we exchanged civil words. I'm pretty much gutted about it and I think about it a lot, and however much I think about it, and however much it sucks, I can't think that I would have done anything differently if I'd known it would turn out this way. Not sure what her health is doing, she was on chemo again for a while but I think she's done soon.
* Living in London is still the most fun EVER, especially since now I occasionally have money to actually do things. Plus many awesome people live here and sometimes come to our flat and we feed them cake.
* Jolly excited about going to see Nation soon, and Jim Moray in December. Hoping to get a gang together to go see Camille O'Sullivan, and also have vague plans to see La Cage Aux Folles at some point.
* Finished Unseen Academicals, very much liked it. Nobody writes realer characters than Terry Pratchett. Almost made me actually interested in football for a minute, there.
* Went to Kitezh again for a couple of weeks over the summer, it was brilliant as usual. Kids are over here for a two-week exchange with some Scottish kids, and I got to show them around London because they had a long layover before their flight to Aberdeen! So that was awesome.
* I use the word awesome too much.
* Finally got on the right tax code, had lots of lovely money back just at the crucial moment, so I am spending this month comfortable instead of destitute. Also from here on in I will be £100 a month better off. It was a very wrong tax code.
* My lunch break is ending, so that's all you're getting for now!

Date: 2009-10-22 01:45 pm (UTC)Except the mother issue. That sucks.
Ugh, jealous. Would do anything to leave Sydney and live in London. Or hell, Hull would do. JUST GET ME TO THE UK (as you know Australia is shiny...but only if you're visiting).
Also jealous you get to see the Barrowman AND SIMON FROM PLAYSCHOOL O.M.G. (Aussie Playschool that is, considering yours hasn't been on in 20 years).
WOO for monies!
Life sounds pretty shiny for you. More :D

Date: 2009-10-23 12:43 pm (UTC)Also, you'll have to read this month's upcoming WOSSNAME horoscope. It's rather, um, Unseen Academicals-centric!
Also also, you'll have to come back soon and make Welsh cakes again :D

Date: 2009-10-27 01:09 am (UTC)Yes, it's up at the site as of last night. Part 4 is the entire monthly horoscope, which Fernando wrote about 'which is your best football position according to the stars, and which famous footballer are you most like'; Fernando did the work, but his editor came up with the names at his request. They include:
:D
You can run away whilst doing</iL a book tour, you know. Hee.
