My God, when is the last time I wrote in this thing?
Yes, I am very busy. That seems to be what all of my LJ entries say now, but it's true!
Today I handed in my final coursework for this semester (I've handed in four courseworks this week - two essays and two translations), and did my second of seven exams. Tomorrow
sashavangenius and I are off to London for a couple of days between exams to relax a bit, see a couple of shows, and meet up with
ladyvivien, yays!
I've hardly been on LJ lately to be honest. I just don't seem to have the time for anything. But I will have plenty of time next week because I have nothing to do except take exams which I will almost certainly not revise for. So,
penguin2, I will email you about that thing in more detail, like I said I would last week! Anyone else I should have emailed about stuff, keep nudging me! Next week is the time!
Next week is also the time that I may be able to actually read some of the lovely books I got for Christmas, hooray! And tidy my room. It looks like the site of some terrible natural disaster. And work on the website. I'm averaging 3000 hits a day now! And just try and relax a bit. Phew.

Date: 2008-01-11 05:48 am (UTC)Just wanted to give you a quick virtual hug since I haven't seen you in I don't know how long. Last semester and the ensuing holidays/grad school fuss pulled me away from my online social life for far too long and I intend to make up for it now that life is a bit less crazy for the time being. (Plus, I just recently realized the CC community LJ has actually been existing and busy. It doesn't update to my e-mail like my normal LJ and I admit I hadn't taken the time to check in on it through the semester, so I have to start being a good mod again and being present and active. :) )
I hope you've been well, however busy, and we can catch up and chat again sometime soon! Take care and be well! And get some much needed rest and relaxation!

Date: 2008-01-12 10:43 pm (UTC)Ooo, and btw, I vaguely remember you asking for reccomendations for good books, so here's a couple which I enjoyed/am enjoying/am potentially going to enjoy in the future:
A Short History of Tractors in Ukrainian - read and thoroughly enjoyed this one.
The Book Thief - am half way through this and loving every bit of it.
Everything is Illuminated - haven't read this one yet but I remember David recommended it very highly, so it's on my Waterstones wish list (I'm getting a Waterstones card! Am very geekily excited! Woo!)

Date: 2008-01-13 01:33 pm (UTC)Also, just sent off my returning volunteer form for Kitezh over Easter, yay! I'm probably going from March 15th to April 13th.
Thanks for the book recommendations!

Date: 2008-01-13 10:10 pm (UTC)I still want to go to Kitezh but I didn't get a reply back from Zhenia or Misha when I contacted them to ask about permission, and now I've been examining my money situation I've been forced to acknowledge that I just can't afford it. Really quite annoying, but there's not much I can do about it, unfortunately. Sigh...
