Mar. 2nd, 2006 12:29 amNice day today...
I made Welsh cakes! They turned out pretty nice, actually. Claire liked them, anyway.
Then this afternoon we went to the castle. I love the castle - it has a nice little art gallery and pretty museum exhibitions, including the Nottingham Foresters Regimental Museum, which is really interesting. I visited my favourite painting, hooray! And the nice museum guy turned the Guinevere statue around for me so that I could have a look at the back.
This evening I've been all excited and planning - I've decided that, when I finish my stint in Russia next May, I won't just fly straight home from Moscow. Instead, I'll work my way across Europe, stopping at maybe Belarus, Lithuania, the Czech Republic and Germany along the way. I haven't totally worked out my route yet (maybe Ukraine, Slovakia instead of Belarus, Lithuania) but I'm really excited about it! I'm pretty sure I could afford it if I stay in hostels and get cheap trains. I'd love to see some more of Europe - I especially want to visit Germany since I won't be studying there any more, and I may as well work my way over instead of flying straight there.
