Kind of an interesting day today. I actually got quite a lot done, which is unusual for a Sunday. Unfortunately not much of it was related to the lectures I have tomorrow, but ho-hum!
I was up quite early and got several profiles done for the CC database, which I'm quite enjoying working on. Jess wants to start a VV one too, which I think is a good idea, so I might look into sorting that out sometime this week, but maybe someone else can have main charge of that once it's set up, because the CC one still needs a lot of work.
So after I'd got up and done all that, I had one of those cleaning moods that Claire gets a lot, and decided to tidy up the kitchen, not a task to be undertaken lightly, I can tell you. It took me over twenty minutes to do the hige pile of washing up, then while I was doing it Claire came in and dried up, then we made a cutlery holder out of my empty fanta bottle because nobody ever bothers to tidy their cutlery away. Then we cleaned all the surfaces, took the rubbish out, swept the floor, generally tidied around and left the kitchen looking sparkling amd magnificent. It took forever, but we were proud of our work. No doubt Anuja will have a big party later and leave it in a mess again, but at least it was nice for a little while.
So after that I went on date no.2 with Mars, we went to see Meet the Fockers, and it was pretty fun. The huge cinema in town has a big movie memorabilia shop, so we went there for a bit before the film. The film itself was better than I expected, in fact I thought it was really good.
Took Shaun of the Dead back to the video shop, and accidentally went over to the ex-rental sale section, accidentally browsed until I found some Voyager videos, and accidentally bought three. Whoops.
Plus, I have talked to Jess and Poppy both today, which is nice. I haven't spoken properly to Poppy in a while, although we IM a lot, so it was nice to chat with her. I am probably going down to stay over Easter and she's going to have a baby shower! Plus she got me all caught up on what's been happening in ER. Jess and I had a bit of a rant about STM and figured out when she's coming to stay.
So now it's half ten at night, and I still have two translations to do for tomorrow, but one of them I guess I can leave, since I have a two hour gap before that lecture, which should be plenty of time to do it. It would be so nice not to have any deadlines. Can't wait for summer.
