Is it wrong to add Caves of Androzani to my Amazon Wishlist just because Peter Davison is tied up and blindfolded on the cover?

...Answers on a postcard, please...

Personally, I'd just like one great big Love, Actually orgy. Minus Keira, obv.

Peter Davison in his prime, tied up and blindfolded...hmm, makes perfect sense to me! So no, nothing off-message there :D

As for the poll - I've adored Bill Nighy ever since I first saw Still Crazy, and hey, he's one of the only people in cinema who could be commanding and sensual whilst wearing a squid on his face, but since I've never seen - and have not even the slightest desire to ever see - Love, Actually (I've had far more than too much information about scenes and scenes and scenes of it from a local friend who suffers from general obsessive fangirlism), can't help you there :P

Huzzah, now I feel validated!
And I suppose I shouldn't be surprised that Love, Actually isn't to your taste, but he's very good in it...

Oh, I totally believe you, since he's a mightiest-of-the-mighty actor. But romantic comedy-drama? Eww, no thanks. Unless there are also lots of explosions and guns :P

Meanwhile, both our icons are exceptionally appropriate, as I've been scribbling and tap-tapping my hands off. Yes, it's December, and yes, as promised, I'm finally putting genuine don't-look-back work into...it. I'm still mostly at the stage of writing massive missives to myself about all the many and divers details of the 1961-1967 section, and trawling through my many back catalogues (old dead-tree ones) of Chrons factoids for birthdates and place-and-venue names and assorted details of the time in that London, but there're also ever more frequent snippets of re-created conversation and freshly-made descriptive writing. Oh, it's so freaky, going back 45 years and writing it all again with a fresh hand...freaky but exciting...

...which reminds me, where's the rest of your story? Dude. :P

Generally it's not my favourite genre either, but, I don't know, to me it isn't a rom-com, really. It's a film about the power of all different kinds of love. Which is cheesy, yes, but I like it. :P
Ooooohh, yay for scribbling!! It's all so exciting!! Can't wait to see some of this stuff...
And I'm sorry, the rest of my story is on the way... In fact there's quite a lot more than what you've seen, but I had a bit of a paralysed moment when I realised how much I've written and freaked out a bit and didn't want to show it to anybody... which is silly, so, when I get a moment after class today I'll try and post the rest that I've got, and maybe work on some more.
Also, I'm writing something for the BBC Writing Room (they promise to read the first ten pages of every script they recieve) involving brainwashing, huzzah!

every script they recieve - um, that's receive. But you knew that :P

Don't ever freak out, pleeeease, about writing a lot! And I say that as someone who's already written at least 3.5 million words of original fiction so far in her life without showing any of it to anyone until, well, not very long ago :D :D :D

(actually, the dead-tree original Chrons probably equal more like 5 million words' worth by now. Of which originals I probably only still possess about 20 per cent, sigh. Then again, if I did have all my old Chrons notebooks from the beginning, they'd fill most of a room by now...which makes it a bit hard to travel, hee)

Mmm, brainwashing...

Have pity, I'd only just woken up!

Wow. That's a lot of words. That's just... awesome. In the old-fashioned sense of the word.

And so many, many more to come! And not just in prose form. Among other things, I've realised that as this is a story not only of a superhuman mutant but of an utterly iconic master musician, there has to be a lot of music stuff in it. Which means retrieving even far more lyrics from T'other Side. Which could turn out to be something of a major ace-up-sleeve because we know that one thing I can definitely do is killer lyrics :D

(I suppose this is as good a time as any to point out that, while there's no-one else in this dimension who can lay claim to writing the song, Be Invisible isn't...precisely...mine...heheh)

I know I should be discussing this over at the FPC, but it's 0125 here and we just watched the latest episode of BG and I know I should be in bed because we're both still extremely unwell (my lungs could currently double as the deep end of a municipal swimming baths) but it's full-on summer here (temp in the house has finally dropped just under 30C), so I think I'll compromise by printing out a few Grauniad crosswords and do them in the bedroom...~looks longingly at notebooks though~

Ooh, really? Maybe I should up its priority on my wish list...

Oh, who am I kidding, if my Dad doesn't get it for me I'm totally buying it for myself anyway...

(loving the Steerpike, btw)
