Notes from the last few days:

* Sarah Jane wears four outfits in her debut story! Four! Has she ever been in a story where she hasn't changed outfits at least once? Inquiring minds want to know. It was a great episode, too. She rescued the Doctor twice! Go SJ!
* Drinkies with [livejournal.com profile] cadiliniel and [livejournal.com profile] bunnyvon was luvverly. [livejournal.com profile] bunnyvon apparently recites Jabberwocky when she's drunk...
* I've been headhunted! After I did a shift in the cafe last week because they were short-staffed, they're trying to steal me from Retail! I am the Queen of crappy minimum wage employment!
* People who live around here - next Friday, my Dad's place, Sarah Jane marathon.
* Am developing strange crush on Third Doctor.
* No Costa Cons in Bad Girls last night! *pout* They're the only reason I watch it! Come back, Phyl!!!
* Work tomorrow, day off on Sunday, three more days and then I'm off for over a week, yay! Going to see [livejournal.com profile] sashavangenius in her show, and visit Poppy and Claire. Eee!
* Lots of fun today at [livejournal.com profile] cadiliniel's, cos it's her birthday... [livejournal.com profile] deccaboo was there... we watched videos of me and [livejournal.com profile] cadiliniel in the primary school Christmas concert!
* Ooh, belated mention for the Archers sleepover last week... [livejournal.com profile] bunnyvon made a boardgame! It was the coolest thing EVER!!! It was a lovely sleepover, lots of fun.
* Just over a month until I go to Russia! OMG!
* Ended up watching the West Wing marathon on More4 the other day... what a great time to get into a show... The day of the finale... Still, it rocked.
* Had kerayzee dream last night about Battlestar Galactica: On Ice
* Bought a trench coat today, woohoo! It's too big, but it'll be useful in Russia when I have to wear lots of layers...

Duuude. Only last weekend I was saying how I'd like to see the Rani brought back, and they're going to do so, yayyayyay!

Re your other post - for many of us, Doctor Three was the Doctor (as was Doctor Four for those who discovered the series a few years later). I am soooo glad you're getting into the "classic" Doctors now; it gives one a better perspective on how the series and the character have evolved over the decades. It also probably shows why I always answer those "who's your favourite Doctor?" thingies with "my favourite Doctor is the Doctor" :D

Seriously, I truly believe there's never been a bad Doctor, only dodgy scripts/storylines. Even doddering old Hartnell occupies a soft spot for me, since he's the Doctor I started with eleventy million years ago. I think Eccleston and Tennant are especially fantastic!, but part of that is that the actors in c21 DW are being given more opportunity to develop the Doctor's emotions. If I had to list relative favourites, it would be a tie between Three, Four, Five and Nine, with Eight and Ten tied so close behind the leaders as to make no difference...but that said, I always thought Six (Colin Baker) was overly maligned - his acting was fine! It's not his fault that ~glares at the very thought of John Nathan-Turner~ he was given stupid stories and forced to perm his hair and wear a clown suit. And likewise for Seven (Sylvester McCoy), who combined good bits of Two, Three and Four but had the misfortune to be Doctoring during JN-T's final attempts to kill off the series...

Ooh, really? [livejournal.com profile] deccaboo was going on about that yesterday, actually... She'll be so pleased... How exciting!
I really am getting so into the classic episodes now - I was always aware of Doctor Who because my Dad was a fan, so I knew which Doctors were which and some of the companions, and had a passing familiarity with the show in general - but I never had my own Doctor as a kid. I'm part of the Lost Generation. DT is the Doctor I should have had growing up.
Oh, it's all so exciting, there are so many episodes to see! I'm partway through Planet of the Spiders at the moment...

It is exciting, isn't it? I know that when I watch the old episodes (pre JN-T, at any rate), I'm surprised at how well they've held up. Somehow the cardboard props and the BBC sandpit don't ruin things as much as I thought they would, because...y'know...it's the Doctor!!!

FWIW one of my favourite-ever episodes was an early Doctor Three one called Inferno. IIRC it's the first time we were ever given a taste of alternate universes, and it was full of a sense of real menace. Doctor Who and the Silurians, from the same era, was another good'un.

I've always had a bizarre soft spot for the Brigadier. He was so, um, cuddly. In a military way :-)
