Feeling a bit more positive today. Situation still not great, but it could certainly be worse. Cheered myself up last night by watching Mrs Henderson Presents yet again. God, I love that film.
Things that have annoyed me today:
* Little old ladies coming in pairs to buy ice-creams, and each insisting on paying, to the point that they both end up thrusting money into my hands and crying "take this, don't take that, put it away NOW!", and I stand there bewildered and terrified of offending them. Just let your friends buy you ice-cream. Jeez. Generosity isn't a competition.
* Sunday magazine columnists who clearly only stay with their husbands so that they can write asinine anecdotes about them every week.
* People who ask if I have any choc-ices, and then when I say I'm very sorry but I haven't, turn right around and stalk off without another word.
Things that have made me happy today:
*
bunnyvon and Leslie coming to visit me at work, even if it was accidentally.
* Finally buying Darling Judi and reading it between customers.
* Suddenly remembering a bunch of things from my childhood.
deccaboo, remember the She-Ra Game?
* Noticing that my ice-cream machine has a "Hazardous Rotating Beater Shaft". *snerk*. Yeah, I'm immature. And? :P
Some messages:
*
elektrik_storm, I finished reading Tipping the Velvet. I really liked it! You stopped reading right before the good bit!
*
bunnyvon, there is no longer any need to give me back my House of Mirth video. I bought it on DVD because I saw it really cheap. And now I have special features, bwahaha!
*
sashavangenius, I called you to tell you about my pie, and was informed that you were in the States! Thanks for telling me, bitch! Are you having a nice time?
* Everyone else, I hope you're having a lovely day, and if not, well, lots of hugs and I hope it improves!
