Date: 2006-03-06 12:08 am (UTC)I'm thinking that, if you can bear to wait, we'll hold off sending you the rest for a couple of weeks, because there's only one more ep coming in s2 after we gank today's torrent of the just-gone-weekend's broadcast ("Yes, Virginia, there is a third season scheduled..."). That way you can get the lot in one package. Because I promise you, if you think things are a mindfuck now, wait til you see what's coming, eeeeeee! I've very, very deliberately gone out of my way not to view any BG spoilage, but a couple of days ago, when I was looking for more iconable BG images, I accidentally glanced at the first line of the synopsis of the penultimate s2 ep and...oh oh oh oh OHHH, all I can say is that I'll be ringing Himself at the office every couple hours to say, "Have you downloaded it yet? HAVE YOU DOWNLOADED IT YET?"

Date: 2006-03-06 12:20 am (UTC)Yes, both parts were on the disc, thank you! And I just watched Epiphanies too, so I've run out!!!
But yeah, hold off until you can send the whole lot. I have lots of other stuff to catch up on so I should be ok for a few weeks! Although it will be hard... :P
Oh, it's all so EXCITING!!! And yay for Season Three!!

Date: 2006-03-06 12:50 am (UTC)We've started catching up on old SG-1 that we'd never seen before - seasons 3 and 4. We're finding it very frustrating, sigh. Much as we love the ensemble cast, the actual writing quality is so damned inconsistent. And we can't understand why, since some of the few truly well-constructed and powerful eps, e.g. the Gate-opened-onto-a-black-hole one, are in the early seasons...so why, why, why are there so many shallow, fatuous, oh so Ahh Murkan, Hallmark Cards-ish weenie stories? The SO and I keep turning to each other during far too many eps and groaning why couldn't someone like Joss have written this, arrggh?! A prime example is Forever in a Day, which we watched last night; I'd been told to expect a walloping kick to the heart, and we both thought that Teh Shanks did a fantastic job of acting, but the whole story was so clumsily done that even I, who loved the character of Sha're and what became of her, felt cheated. We're both of the opinion that such an important story deserved at least a two-parter, with a lot more thought put into the writing and direction. I'd say "this is what comes of scriptwriting by committee", except that BG is written by a host of people and yet the quality of each ep is equally stunning :-(
