I can't be bothered to get up just yet, so I'll tell you all about my fun day yesterday.
the_gentleman and I had arranged to meet up in town and do something spontaneous. And so we went to the Tourist Information place to figure out what fun, spontaneous place we could go to, and we decided on the Galleries of Justice, which is the old law courts and prisons, which were in use up until fairly recently.
It was such a good day out! We got to see what a Victorian court case would be like, and we looked around two incarnations of the prison, one before Elizabeth Fry's reforms, the other after. The tour people were all very good. We got taken around the second bit by a 'matron' who threatened to tie my hand behind my back because I'm left-handed. Scary! Then there were exhibitions afterwards too. A lot of the crime and punishment stuff I remembered from GCSE. It was wicked cool, and I'd recommend it!
After that we went for lunch, during which
the_gentleman threw jelly at me. In a public restaurant. I was aghast. So when he went to the loo I put jelly in his coat.
After that we went to a few shops, including HMV, where I, ahem, bought a couple of DVDs. But they were really cheap! Then in the bargain bookshop I got a book of Ibsen plays and the screenplay of The Winter Guest, which I need because I'm writing my own screenplay. In fact, yeah, that's what I need the DVDs for! Film research! *nods*
Watched Dancing on Ice in the evening. I was sad that Bonnie didn't win. Nice to see John Barrowman again, in a tux no less!
Then Claire and I watched some Lost, yay! She was so excited. She's really been missing it. :p
