Anyway, ohhhhh, Jadzia... I loved her so much and it took me a while to warm up to Ezri. This vid did a wonderful job of showing Ezri's journey arc as she tried to find her place and acceptance among the people who loved and respected Jadzia. Great work, I really enjoyed it a lot! ♥♥♥

Aaaah, such a perfect use of the song! I love how it feels like all of Jadzia's friends learning to let go of her but embrace Ezri as much as Dax herself learning to adapt.

oh EZRIIIII. You did a really wonderful job here with the editing, showing all the flashback scenes of Jadzia and her relationships with her friends on the station, and Ezri, and omg I forgot just how adorable Ezri was. I must do a rewatch soon, aaaiaeie.

I love this so much! I really like what you've done with the opening sequence, especially the shot of Miles at the funeral and the transition from Worf's grief to Sisko with the casket, so good. The movement in the sequence of Ezri going to the temple, and all the bits of her walking through the station, is wonderful. And the last three clips are PERFECT. ♥

Well damn, I've got to actually sit down and watch these straight through now, don't I. (I knew about the Dax arc but finding a TV to watch DS9 on was pretty difficult when it was originally on the air, so I was only catching one ep out of every four or so.) Gorgeous, heartbreaking, hopeful. I especially liked how you differentiated the Jadzia sequences from the Ezri sequences with the black-and-white vs. color, yet interspersed so frequently - it may sound silly to say, but I felt like it helped me understand Dax's experience throughout the change, even though visually, we only ever see the hosts.

I think I've kind of stretched the definition of short-term to-watch list, but I did get around to it eventually!

The vid was great, don't get me wrong, but my main reaction is "oh god, maybe 'City Hall' wasn't a one-time thing, maybe Vienna Teng is generally good and that means a bunch more stuff I want to listen to help I am drowning in music". I blame you. (The kind of blame that's more like thanking, but still blame.)

HUGE love for this! There is not enough love for Ezri in general (I hear more complaints about how much attention she got seventh season, as if her arc and her life are not inextricably linked to everyone else's), and I love the parallels with Jadzia. Beautifully done!

This is wonderful. Here via a mention on the Wiscon community (a recent post about Vienna Teng fan vids). I loved seeing the other characters' memories of old Dax as they tried to get used to Ezri (whom I liked better), and Ezri's attempts to find her feet with them.

Oh wow I hate you. Oh God this REALLY HURT. I hadn't really considered the UPside to watching it as SOON as I could is I HAVE JUST SEEN ALL THIS STUFF so it's fresh in my mind. (er, p sure it'll be equally effective when it's less fresh in my mind, but still.) Aaaaargh this is so good. I may've had a wee cry. I'm quite glad I watched it by myself first time actually.

This is really moving. I love the song choice because it's about the characters letting go of old Dax (including Ezri), but it's also on another level telling the *audience* to let Jadzia go. <3

And I agree with what other commenters said before me, that the clips of Jadzia's experiences in black-and-white differentiated and helped so much. A lovely vid that makes me take another look at Ezri.

I'm fond of Ezri Dax - I know that when they introduced Jadzia, they explored the concept of not being able to re-establish various relationships associated with the life of the previous host, but it felt much more real as a concept when Ezri was struggling to adjust to an environment so strongly associated with Jadzia. I think your vid captures that struggle really well and uses the music to explore her world really effectively - thank you for showing it :)
