A Very Big Adventure

This has been such an incredible weekend!
Well, I suppose it really started off on Friday afternoon,
sashavangenius and I went into Beeston shopping. We didn't really get anything much, but we went to Subway for lunch and just generally had a nice, chilled out afternoon, which was lovely because I haven't had a chance to do that in a while.
Then in the evening, Sash came over again and we watched two X-Files and three musicals, yay! So we ended up going to bed rather late, which was silly of us because we needed to get up at seven to catch the train for Collectormania.
Still, we managed it, and we also managed to speak only Russian for the entire journey to Milton Keynes. It's very encouraging to know that we can actually keep a conversation going, even if we did have to make some use of the dictionary.
So we arrived in MK, and walked to the Centre. Ooh, this is when we noticed that my arm was covered in blood, which was very dramatic! I still don't know how I cut myself, but it wasn't that bad, and once I got that sorted out we went to have a look around the stalls.
We spent most of Saturday mooching around the stalls, and the shops generally, and filming stuff. We went to Chappell of Bond Street and I got a new clarinet book! Also, I found an X-Files book in German, which will be handy for revision. We saw
cadiliniel and
elanor_isolda briefly, but they had to go off and do fun stuff in London, so we just said hello really.
Our hotel was pretty cool; our room was nice and big and we had Sky! I don't really miss TV that much, but it was nice to have for one evening. So we just chilled out in the hotel room most of the evening, and Sash read my tarot, which was fascinating.
This morning we had the genius idea of, instead of getting a taxi into the centre, seeing if we could find a bus-stop nearby. Thus, we ended up stuck in the middle of nowhere, and had to get a taxi in the end anyway. But it was quite a pleasant walk, the weather was pretty, and it was still early so we didn't miss much, convention-wise.
Once we got there we were pretty hungry, so we went to Pizza Hut for lunch with
cadiliniel,
elanor_isolda and their friend Sally. The waitress performed amazing feats of memory, and we all enjoyed our pizza, and had a fun discussion about fic, and slash, and that sort of thing.
We had a good look around the stalls, and I got lots of pretty pictures, yay! Also, we took some pictures of
cadiliniel and
elanor_isolda duelling, in their guise as Slytherins.
sashavangenius got Danny John Jules' autograph.
The trains back were ok, quite crowded, but on our last train we sneaked into First Class since everywhere else was packed.
It was a really fabulous weekend, and I can't wait to do it again! It would have been even better if certain people had been able to come. CC types, we must all of us manage to be at the same con sometime soon!
