Thankee for your answer to #2, even though I'm no more enlightened than I was yesterday. I'm beginning to suspect that fandom is just one of those things I'll never quite grok, along with autographs and signed books and RPG...'tis odd though. I'm definitely, for example, a total-immersion Buffyhead; I've spent, and still spend, hours discussing aspects and implications of the storylines and character interactions; I feel that the characters are "real", for a certain qualified value of real, and I care about them; but it would never in a thousand moons occur to me to even want to imagine new shall-we-say adventures for them. I wonder if it's because, for decades out of mind, I've been creating things for a living, and wouldn't touch someone else's creations unless I was being paid to do so? - or if it's because I've had my own er um private world to play in for most of my life? ~shrug~ Ah well, there's room for all of us :D
