cosmic_llinYeucchh. Just had a horrible Russian lesson.
Well, not actually all that horrible on the surface, I mean, nothing all that dreadful happened. I got ticked off for write my Ks like British ones and not joining up my ls properly, and I spelled a couple of things wrong, but nothing too dire. But I just came away from it feeling really discouraged. Maybe it's because I didn't feel all that great - the headphones we have to wear for aural work are huge and they make your head really hot and I was feeling a little sick.
Sometimes I wonder why I'm even doing this - everyone else seems so much cleverer than me and some days it seems such a struggle to keep up. But then other days I really enjoy it and I can't wait to go to Russia at the end of the year. I guess I just have to take the good with the bad. I mean, I've done pretty well in the courseworks so far. In fact, I'm doing fine in both Jeremy and Monika's lessons - it's only Svetlana's class that's getting me down.
But then the German part of my course seems to get worse the more Russian I learn. I only have three hours of German language a week, as opposed to ten in Russian, and they did warn me that my German would suffer a bit because of all the Russian. But knowing that didn't prepare me for sitting in class and feeling like I've forgotten everything I ever knew.
Some days I just want to go home.
