Fics Completed:
A fic and a treat for Yuletide, and around 25 other stories if you don't count the 27 ficlets and drabbles I wrote for last year's [livejournal.com profile] fandom_stocking, many of which were done in the first few days of January. The vast majority of fic I wrote was for various incarnations of Star Trek, but I also wrote Doctor Who, Jam and Jerusalem, Downton Abbey, and a few other bits and pieces.

Looking back, did you write more fics than you thought you would this year, less than you thought, or about what you predicted?
I'd say definitely more, although not by a huge amount as many of them were pretty short. I've always enjoyed writing fic but this year in particular fandom has been a welcome escape from real-life stuff, and I've found myself having bursts of creativity on my better days.

Where did you publish/archive your stories?
Most of them I published to LiveJournal communities, particularly [livejournal.com profile] where_no_woman which is my new favourite place on the internet. They're all archived on AO3.

What pairing/genre/fandom did you write that you would never have predicted in January 2011?
Ro Laren/Sonya Gomez, just because I'd never imagined those characters even meeting. Also it was weird to go back to Janeway/Chakotay, even if very briefly, having left my J/C OTP days behind.

What’s your favorite story this year? Not the most popular, but the one that makes you the happiest.
Hard to choose! I was really pleased with how The Rivals came out, and 1,023 Days on Earth made me really happy too, but I think London was the hardest to write and I was really pleased that it came together in a way that I liked.

Okay, NOW your most popular story.
Appearances had by far the most hits on AO3, probably because it was for a pairing that was booming at the time, it was a quick read, and it got podficced too. Other stories that did well mostly involved Seven/B'Elanna or Seven/Janeway/B'Elanna.

Story most underappreciated by the universe?
I don't think any of my stories were underappreciated, they all got a bit of love and I'm aware that as far as fandom at large is concerned, they're pretty niche. I would like for more people to have read my Jam and Jerusalem fic, just because I would like there to be more of a fandom for it in general!

Story that could have been better?
I'm sure they all could have been better. I was disappointed with how Shuttlecraft Three came out, I liked the idea a lot but it just didn't come together.

Sexiest story?
Ahaha. Um. I've written quite a few stories with sex scenes this year, but people seem to appreciate Jefferies Tube 11 and Women Warriors at the River of Blood.

Most fun story?
The Rivals. Not the sort of thing I usually write at all, but I really enjoyed it.

Story with single sweetest moment?
I'm fond of the reunion scene a little before the end of London.

The story that made you cry?
Of my own? I don't think I cried at anything.

Hardest story to write?
Dark Places was kind of hard because it was a gift and I was really anxious for it to turn out well.

Easiest story to write?
A lot of the stories I wrote this year were just quick little ficlets, mostly Star Trek femslash - I didn't agonise much over any of them.

Most overdue story?
I didn't miss any deadlines, but plenty of stories I meant to work on didn't get finished. Particularly The Crossing, which I wrote three chapters of and then left, although I know what's going to happen next.

Did you take any writing risks this year? What did you learn from them?
Well, I've written a lot more explicit fic than is usual for me, which was a lot of fun. I've written some characters who wouldn't be my first choice. It's all good practice, really.

Do you have any fanfic goals for the New Year?
I would like to be able to tick off a few more items on my long list of stories I keep meaning to write. Also I've had so much fun writing all the femslash this year, but I want to focus a bit more on friendship and gen this year, and see what happens.

I also wrote some thoughtful stuff here about vidding and how I didn't do that much but I felt I'd learned a lot from watching other people's vids in the last year and I'm excited to apply it all and vid lots in 2012, but LiveJournal nommed it. Hmph.
