Petsitting Funtimes!
Jan. 31st, 2011 06:32 pmYesterday our downstairs neighbour rang our buzzer, about lunchtime, to tell us that he'd lost his house keys while out walking the dog and ask to use our phone to get hold of the spare set. There was a long and convoluted series of events involving voicemail, wrong spare keys, people being in Spain, and the oven still being on... anyway, the upshot was that we got to look after the dog for much of the day while the neighbour went places.
It was fun! Wilf is a nice-sized dog, he maybe comes up to my knee, so nice and sturdy but not big enough to be intimidating. And so fuzzy! He was fascinated by the view from our window - I suppose because he walks up and down the street outside all the time, but usually he sees it from about a foot away rather than from the first floor.
So we played with him and fed him bits of ham and he slept on our feet while we watched TV, and it was all, just... nice. Quite looking forward to when we have a big enough place for a dog of our own.
