Dec. 10th, 2004 11:47 amI'm going home tomorrow!! I can hardly wait, I never thought I would miss it this much. Not that I'm not having a great time at Uni, but it will be nice to see everyone for a while.
PS of D wasn't bad on Wednesday, because it was their Christmas concert. Well, it wasn't bad in the sense that I didn't have charge of several bratty children. It was bad in the sense that the theme for their concert was musicals, and I was forced to listen as they mangled most of my favourites. I know they are only children, but seriously, not a one of them could sing in the slightest. It was like torture.
Anyway, we had the little party on Wednesday night, and it was pretty good. Many mince pies were consumed. Claire knitted me a cushion for Christmas! It’s fabulous! (I got her a book about David Bowie and a fishy pen). Rachel and Mai both got me those baskets of bubble bath and moisturiser thingies that you get for people you don’t really know. Sash got me Monty Python and the Holy Grail on DVD!
Yesterday was my presentation in my Hitler and the Third Reich class. Two of the four people in our group dropped out at the last minute, but I still think we coped ok. I talked about the ways in which the Jews were persecuted in Nazi Germany. Now, everyone has done a presentation this term and mine was the last one. Every single presentation, they ask if there are any questions. Every time, one or two people raise a hand while everyone else looks at their shoes. Usually the questions are just to clarify a point that came up in the presentation.
So I said ‘Any questions?’ – and a forest of hands shot up. Oh dear. I didn’t make a total fool of myself, but I did slightly make a few of the answers up, so fingers crossed it’ll be ok!
Euggghh. German grammar test this afternoon. What are they playing at, giving us an exam on the afternoon of the last day of term? All my friends will be skipping out of Russian, happy to be finished until January, and I will have to go to a stoopid test.
