Mulder, toads just fell from the sky!
Dec. 1st, 2004 10:00 pmPretty lazy day today, I'm afraid. Called the Primary School of Doom before going out to lectures and feigned croaky, sick voice. Hehe. I would feel guilty, but they really don't need me there, the children are brats and the teacher gets on my nerves, so I don't.
Nearly fell asleep in Russian Lit, even though we were doing Ivan Denisovich, which I love. I'm just incredibly tired. But now at last I'm starting to catch up on my sleep.
This afternoon Claire and I went for a gander round the authentic, traditional German Christmas Market in Market Square, filled with German christmas food, german wooden toys, german handmade nativity scenes, german music etc. Best overheard comment: 'There seems to be a bit of a German theme, doesn't there?'
So managed to sort out pressies for Rachel and Mai. Will probably do most of my Christmas shopping once I get home for the holidays since I don't much fancy carrying it all the way back to Wales on the train.
Utterly forgot to go to SFFS, never mind.
We introduced Mai to the exciting world of Christmas crackers! She had never seen one before. And she told us about Thai New Year, when they get to squirt water at everybody. Only a week until out flat party! I am making the pastry for the mince pies, plus a chocolate Yule log.
Then Claire and I tidied the kitchen because the cleaners are coming tomorrow. It's silly really, but Claire doesn't want them to think we're messy.
