Thank you in advance for making me a vid! \o/ I'm sure I'll love whatever you make, but here are some ideas in case you want some concrete suggestions!
Music:
Really, the most important thing is that the song is the right one for the vid - I have pretty broad musical tastes and there's not a lot I don't like, although I'm less keen on the more electronic/dubstep-y side of dance music and really talky rap. I really like folk music, rock, pop, 80s power ballads, female singer-songwriters with their own instruments, some country, musical theatre soundtracks... artists I like include Dar Williams, Vienna Teng, Regina Spektor, Ingrid Michaelson, Janelle Monae, Kate Bush, Tori Amos, Bonnie Langford, The Burns Unit, Clannad, Cyndi Lauper, Dolly Parton, Karine Polwart, Jim Moray, Toyah, The Decemberists, Freshlyground, Fleetwood Mac, Patrick Wolf, Tracy Chapman, Brandi Carlile, Missy Higgins, Ella Fitzgerald - but honestly I'll listen to almost anything and if it works for the vid that'll make me love the song anyway!
General:
I love vids about women, character studies, friendship vids, vids about communities and teams, cute vids, sad vids, silly vids, people kicking ass vids...
The African Queen
I'd be really happy with absolutely anything for this film - it's one of my favourites and I love almost everything about it (apart from the somewhat-dodgy race stuff, obv...) A Rose character study, a shippy vid, an exciting river journey vid, a vid that condenses the film into three minutes so I can get my fix when I need it... you pretty much can't go wrong.
Cagney and Lacey
I love Mary Beth and Christine equally so anything about either of them is good, or something about their friendship and the way they work together and the way they interact with the rest of the team. Don't be afraid of the angstier storylines (exception: I'd really appreciate you avoiding Mary Beth's cancer storyline if you can) but I also really like the sense of fun their friendship has, so mood-wise pretty much anything goes! In terms of other characters I love everyone but Petrie and Harvey are particular favourites!
Dr Quinn: Medicine Woman
I love Mike and I love her interactions with the other women around her! I'd love a vid about the community, or about the women and their relationships to each other, or a friendship vid of Mike and ANY of the other women in town, or a vid about Mike teaching and mentoring Colleen... or a character study for any of the women... I like the men in the show fine, and I ship Mike/Sully, but on the whole I'd love for it to be women-focused, although I don't mind the menfolk getting a look-in as long as they don't dominate! ;))
Jam and Jerusalem
Again, I'd love anything about the whole community or anything about any of the women and their friendships and fun and awesomeness! Sal/Tip friendship or shippy, Caroline and Suzie, Eileen and her Guild... Sal, Tip and Yasmeen are my favourite characters but only by a hair, I love everyone, I love everything about the show, and you really can't go wrong!
M*A*S*H
I'd love to see anything about Margaret and/or the nurses. I really love Margaret, she's one of my favourite characters of all time and I so enjoyed seeing her grow over the course of the show. I love her friendship with Hawkeye, and her relationship with Colonel Potter, and the way she takes care of her nurses. I love her when she's funny, when she's sad, and when she's in charge. Having said that I love everyone and everything on this show, so if you're not inspired for Margaret anyone is good, especially the other nurses (Kellye!), Klinger or Father Mulcahy.
Moondreamers
Whimzee, Sparky, Dreamgazer and Celeste are my favourites but I love everyone! Any sort of vid for this would be amazing - character study or team vid or comedy or friendship or just a potted version of the show! (Also this is a safety and has a tiny little canon and is available in its entirety on YouTube, if you're not feeling whatever we got matched on!)
Shirley Valentine
I'd be thrilled with any vid whatsoever for this film! I ship Shirley/Marjorie, but I love the film so much as it is, I don't really mind whether you do something with that or not! Basically I love Shirley's whole journey and the confidence she finds and any vid that touches on that would be awesome!
Tenko
I'd be thrilled to see anything in this fandom - team vid, friendship vid, character study for anyone... My favourite characters include Christina, Beatrice, the dynamic duo of Blanche and Rose, Joss, and Marion. I'm more familiar with season 1 and 2 so it's cool if you want to stick with one or the other or both! Don't be afraid of the angst, it would be hard to make a totally happy vid for this show, I think...
