Well, Mum's starting chemotherapy tomorrow. From what I gather, there's about an even chance that it'll go well, in which case she could be around for another couple of years, maybe more. So, not exactly good news, but certainly not the worst. I'm somewhat encouraged.

Anyway, in other news, the new series of the Sarah Jane Adventures has started! I watched the first story - I felt that the script and the direction could both have been better, but on the whole I was pretty pleased. *sigh* I love the Jacksons. And there were some very sweet moments.

I'll probably be in London for a week or two, from this weekend or the beginning of next week. So if anyone wants to hang out, stake your claim now, everyone wants a piece of me! OK... what I mean is that I'll have to do lots of shifts at work to make up for all the time I'm missing, so I'll be boring-busy instead of fun-busy...

The man who was supposed to sell me a snake sold it to somebody else! Dammit! So now I have a vivarium and no snake to put in it. Next stop, Gumtree, I suppose...

Credit must go to [livejournal.com profile] icondo for fuelling my 30 Rock obsession with pretty icons to put all over my journal :)

YAY CAKE.
Don't know if this has already been mentioned to you, but you were in my dream last night - I dreamed that we were trapped in an evil boarding school and plotted together to escape...
What does it mean, I wonder?

Either that you love me or want to kill me. Or my natural trouble-making skillz mean I'd be excellent at hatching escape plans :)

My aunty started chemo yesterday. I know so many people who have been through it, but all the experiences have been different, it's always hard to know what to say because one person's easy ride has been a tough slog for someone else. *hugs*

I'm made of fail and I didn't watch SJA :S I will try and get it on iPlayer!

I didn't know you were getting a snake, how exciting! Perhaps you could find one in Wales? They're always advertising in Pets at Home!

When would you like to meet up next? I'm not sure when [livejournal.com profile] bunnyvon is working this week, but I am working from Friday to Monday...like I do every week :|

Aw, I hope your aunty gets on ok with it. Mum seems all right so far but obv it's early days...
Watch SJA, so we can talk about it when we meet!!!

Chemo is so much better than it was 30 years ago, when it was my turn. And I'm still here 30 years later to mention it :-)

Also, we ain't bloody replicants - human medical science isn't yet very accurate with use-by dates. In both directions, sure, but that means plenty of possible leeway.

My reaction to the first SJA s2 episodes was "Gosh, this is just like old-style Doctor Who, only with real special effects and real actors!" Hee. The SJA scripts aren't exactly top-drawer, but who cares when we've got Sarah Jane and adventures...!

Exactly. Mum isn't the sort to take any shit just because she's not well. When she was admitted, they said her calcium levels were so high she should have been unconscious for weeks, but all she'd noticed was that she was a bit sleepy... She's hardcore.

It is a lot more like Classic Who than New Who is. I loves my cliffhangers, I do.

This is brilliant news!

And I have to admit that I prefer my cliffhangers to only hang for as long as it takes to start the next file, or change the DVD :P
