That 25 Things... Thing...

Well, everyone else is doing it... and I wasn't going to, but I was told to. :P
So, without further ado:

1. I had an imaginary friend almost until I was in my teens.
2. I am leaning to play the piano. I really wish I'd learned as a child so that I could already do it, but having lessons is still pretty cool. I already play the clarinet and sax, so at least I've got somewhere to start from.
3. Every time I see a Nissan Figaro, I wish on it, and I always wish for the same thing.
4. I would hate to live in Russia full-time. I would also hate to not go there as often as possible. There are no good solutions that don't involve spending piles of money on plane tickets.
5. I have never had a valentine.
6. When I was little, my favourite food was jam, because it was red, which was my favourite colour. It made sense at the time.
7. I like pie almost more than is natural.
8. I read Pollyanna as a child and found it genuinely inspiring and tried to live my life like the girl in the book.
9. I want to be rich, and I always have. It's not that I want money for its own sake, but I want to be able to travel and go to the theatre whenever I like, and that doesn't come cheap. It doesn't have to be millions - just enough so that I don't have to choose between the plays I want to see and the places I want to go.
10. My front teeth aren't my real front teeth.
11. Half the things I'm writing down here I'm changing my mind about and deleting straight away.
12. I have an older brother and a younger sister (hi, [livejournal.com profile] 3_fries_short!), a mother, a stepfather, a father, and a stepmother who died a few years ago.
13. London for me is like the Emerald City. I waited so long to come here, and I was not disappointed.
14. I would like to foster or adopt children at some point. I'd like to have a couple of my own, too, but there are so many kids out there who need someone, and I'd like to be one of those someones.
15. I went through a hyper-religious phase as a child when I believed that God had chosen me for a special purpose, and that was why the other kids thought I was weird.
16. I really want to go to Boston and I'm not sure why.
17. I love it when they put poems on the Underground and I think there should be lots more.
18. I once tried to learn Norwegian, just because I liked the sound of it. I haven't given up, either - I'm just on hiatus. :P
19. When I think about how I'll have to get up early on weekday mornings and go out in rush hour and get the tube for as long as I have a regular job, it makes me horribly depressed.
20. I intend not to have a regular job for very much longer. And certainly not a career. Not that sort, anyway.
21. I would wear period costume every day if there was any way to make it remotely practical or affordable.
22. I have no idea what the future holds, beyond the next few months. I'm not sure how I feel about that.
23. I have never been to Scotland.
24. I'm just not that interested in learning to drive.
25. In the nativity play, they used to make me play the innkeeper. Not even the innkeeper's wife, but the actual innkeeper. My sister was Mary. Deep down I still feel this was an injustice.

8. I read Pollyanna as a child and found it genuinely inspiring and tried to live my life like the girl in the book.

...

ME TOO. I've never met ANYONE ELSE though. Um. OMG. Um. Sorry. Just. HI!!

Ok, off to read the rest now. Just. :D And ALSO ♥

Also, I LOVE the recent adaptation with Amanda Burton.

I think you're so very cool for 2 and 3. And I hear you on 4. Having same problem with New Zealand.

Aww on 6 and 7, however there's no such thing as an UNnatural love of pie.

Agree on 9, 14, 16, 19, 20, 21 (SO MUCH - we shold arrange a day to do it. when we have money. :) and 22. I used to agree on 24 but since I've been in NZ it's got sort of fun.

25 is definitely an injustice.

Mwahaha, I has a pet [livejournal.com profile] cosmic_llin who does what I say. Must not abuse this power. Really. ;p

I already knew more of these than I thought I would.

YES on 5, 7, 9, 14, 17, 19, 20, 21, and 22!

2. You play clarinet and sax? AWESOME.
3. I always wish for the same thing when I wish on stuff.
11. Hmm, enigmatic. Now I want to know what THOSE things were! ;)
23. Must be remedied ASAP!

2. Yes! But I sold my sax to pay the rent once, how rock and roll of me! I want to get another one...
3. Ooh, is it a secret?
23. Totes!

2. Living on the edge, you. *g* You should get one, for reasons of awesome.
3. If you tell people your wishes, they don't come true. ;) Otherwise I'd have asked what yours is!

Boston, USA? Its a beautiful city. One of my favourites. I've been there twice and could quite happily live there.

[identity profile] cosmic-llin.livejournal.com 2009-02-12 07:34 pm (UTC)(link)
People keep saying that to me - I just think I'd really love it!

[identity profile] penguin2.livejournal.com 2009-02-13 02:30 am (UTC)(link)
You would. It's an old city, so I found that parts of Boston made me feel like I was back home. Also, it's a lot kewler than the real Boston - aka The Sleepy Skanky City That Time Sensibly Forgot :P

And likewise for many of the up-country towns and cities in that area, e.g. Salem. Definitely an add for your travel list!

[identity profile] revolutionaren.livejournal.com 2009-02-12 10:54 am (UTC)(link)
I totally agree with 5, 7, 8 and 22.
I'm rather intrigued by 20 though and for some reason find 15 really, really cute.
25 is a complete injustice, I was always an angel myself and never Mary >:(

[identity profile] cosmic-llin.livejournal.com 2009-02-12 07:35 pm (UTC)(link)
At least you got to play a girl!
:P

[identity profile] revolutionaren.livejournal.com 2009-02-12 08:26 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm quite sure angels were meant to be genderless ;D

[identity profile] cosmic-llin.livejournal.com 2009-02-12 10:13 pm (UTC)(link)
Touché, Miss Theology Scholar!
But you have to admit that, generally, in nativity plays, the angels are girls, and the innkeeper isn't. :P

[identity profile] revolutionaren.livejournal.com 2009-02-12 10:17 pm (UTC)(link)
I must say, you've got me there.

[identity profile] 3-fries-short.livejournal.com 2009-02-12 12:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Unsurprisingly, I already knew most of this. And God, I'm sorry I was Mary. It wasn't my fault! And it's not like I actually had any lines!! It was just a step up from wearing itchy tinsel on my head.

[identity profile] cosmic-llin.livejournal.com 2009-02-12 07:36 pm (UTC)(link)
LOL, I know, I'm not blaming you, I'm blaming the inherent corruption and bias in the Capel Horeb Sunday School nativity cast selection process :P
And you totally did have lines! But then so did I.

[identity profile] penguin2.livejournal.com 2009-02-13 02:36 am (UTC)(link)
1. I still do. Only I'd say You-know-who isn't exactly the sort of person one can call friend, unless you're Dru Baker, or the missus :P :P :P

10. Whose are they? Bwahahaha dine-chewers?!

17. They do that here too. Only it's all utter rubbish, so every time I'm on a train and see one of the 'poems' my inner potter keeps screaming YOU STUPID EEJITS THAT ATE'NT POTTERY GODSDAMMIT! BREAKING PLAIN BORING UNEXCEPTIONAL SENTENCES INTO BITS ON A PAGE DOES NOT AUTOMATICALLY MAKE IT POTTERY ARRGH ARRGH ARRGH and suchlike :D

[identity profile] cheryltheperil.livejournal.com 2009-02-13 01:00 pm (UTC)(link)
I know what you mean about number 4! I'm still waiting for the day someone invents teleporters so I can pop over for the weekend whenever I feel like it, lol.

15 - maybe he did :-)
