My laptop is going away!!! It has been repeatedly crashing at random intervals for some time now - I called the helpline a few times, they told me a bunch of things to try but nothing fixed it. Today they had me format it completely in case that would help, but it didn't, so it's definitely a hardware problem. So a courier is going to come and pick it up in a day or two, and it will be gone for 7-10 days.
What am I going to do without it? I will be able to check my email, since there are computer rooms on campus I can use, but I won't be able to type anything, so if my muse pops up I will have to actually handwrite stories. I know a lot of people prefer it that way because it feels more organic, or something, but I find that it helps me to see how the words look on a typed page, and I'd much rather work on a computer. Still, desperate times call for deperate measures. *g*

I was without net access for two weeks once (that's in the past five years, heh) and then on limited access for the following six. It was *not* good, since at the time I was going through BIG changes - of geography, personnel, entire life...- but these days, I find myself spending far less time in front of any computer as my ME recovery progresses.
Um, I'd happily lend you my handheld, but you're a bit far away :D
