Science is fun!

Hee, so, [livejournal.com profile] carawj and I are in an exhibit in the Science Museum!

A while ago they put out a call for pictures of couples to feature in the revamped Who Am I? gallery, and we submitted a picture of us, and it was one of the 50 that got chosen! So we feel special. It's just a little slideshow in the middle of the bit about gender and attraction and stuff, but it's going to be there for ten years. Nice to think.

Tonight we got to go to a preview of the exhibit and there was free Pimms and a DJ and [livejournal.com profile] carawj made a weird mutant toy thing and I raced a sperm! Tomorrow we plan to go to Waterstone's and then watch Doctor Who, and spend most of Sunday doing nothing whatsoever. So basically it will be the perfect weekend. Hurrah!

That's all kinds of awesome about the museum! Although I'm almost afraid to ask, how did you race a sperm exactly?

Are you guys coming to watch Who at mine tomorrow? I asked on twitter but never send an email. I fail at organising stuff :P I was thinking picnic and croquet in the garden afterwards. There shall be Pimms, dips, cookies and geekery.

Yay!

It's one of the little interactive game thingies they have - first you race a sperm, and then you grow the person up!

Yeah, I thought Cara already said so on twitter? Any particular time you want us over/stuff we should bring? Sounds awesome!

That's so cool that they put your picture in the gallery! Way to go!

That museum sounds awesome. I'd love to see it whenever I finally make it over there. I got to go to a fun science center in Lubbock, Texas earlier this summer and play with a lot of interactive exhibits, and there were Lego sculptures. I don't care if these things are geared toward kids. I love a good hands-on science demonstration. :)

I hope you both enjoy this perfect weekend!

Ooooo, how did I miss this post? It must have sneaked by when I was Lurgified! That is WONDERFUL that you have a ten-year gallery spot. Here's to the two of you outlasting it though :D

I raced a sperm!

Please tell me you won :P :P :P

That's so cool! I know you guys mentioned that picture thing before, but I never actually realised what it was for. Will have to go at some point and check it out - although I guess I have ten years to do so!
