Blah, blah, ash cloud blah...

Last few days have been a bit all over the place... I was supposed to fly to Russia last night, obviously that has not happened. I've managed to reschedule for Tuesday evening but the closer that gets the less likely it appears. Next NATS update at 1500 today.

Although this is really annoying and I'll be so disappointed if I don't get to go, at least I live in London so I don't have to wait around Heathrow for news, and I'm not stuck somewhere on my own, or trying to get somewhere for an emergency.

On the plus side, once I got all the phoning of people and what-not done yesterday, we went to the farmers' market and got some nice cheese, and then sat in the park in the sunshine.

Also, since I don't think I've mentioned it yet, my birthday was very nice. :)

Well, you did mention it to me. And yay! for Rampaging Laser Princesses! :-)

~thinks~

Ring o' sunsets rosy
All the planes are dozy
Ash cloud, ash cloud
We all stay down...

Wishing you good luck that your flight will finally work out and your trip will be able to take place! Also, in case I didn't say so already, belated Happy Birthday! I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Too bad about the flight delays. I hope you'll make it there. But if not, then at least you'll get a vacation from work, I guess.

On a somewhat-related note, I was wondering: do you keep up a vegetarian diet when you're in Russia?

When I went on my exchange trip, the program advisers suggested that I keep my vegetarian preferences a secret and just eat whatever my host family gave me. So I did. But now I'm wondering if that was really the right move. I guess it doesn't really matter, but I feel weird, like I've been keeping part of myself hidden from my Russian friends all these years.

Also, on a completely UNrelated note, I finally got my hands on one of Terrance Dick's Sally Ann books. And my take is that Sally Ann is really Sarah Jane...in rag doll form. (Not in looks, but in personality.) Have you ever read a Sally Ann book? Might be worth it, for the Sarah Jane value. And they're probably a lot easier to come by on your side of the pond, too!

Cheers!

Hurrah for having a nice birthday. :)
